FMU harriers place 21st and 22nd at NCAA Regional Meet

OAKWOOD, GA – Junior Andrea Liddell finished 69th to lead the Francis Marion University women's cross country team to a 21st-place showing at the 2018 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship Meet, Saturday morning (Nov. 17) hosted by the University of North Georgia.  Junior Ivan Henderson led the Patriot men to a 22nd-place team finish as he placed in 118th position.

Liddell posted a time of 25:08.48 to complete the 6,000-meter course.  It was the first 6K race of the season for FMU.   

The other Patriot women were junior Alison Filer in 130th position with a time of 27:29.33, junior Emma Driggers (28:01.69) in 135th place, junior Alexis Byers (29:41.19) in 144th, and junior Jasmine Watson (41:01.35) in 154th.   

Henderson toured the 10,000-meter men's course in 37:35.06 to lead the Patriot men. The next three FMU finishers were all freshmen: Parker Calvert (38:45.10) in 129th, Christian England (40:26.82) in 141st, and John Talbert (43:40.50) in 146th.  Senior Brandon Boggs, running his final race for the Red, White, and Blue, was the other Francis Marion finisher and he placed 150th in a time of 48:32.17. 

Queens University of Charlotte captured both the men's and women's team titles.  The Royals men captured three of the top five places, while the Queens women occupied four of the top 11 positions.
