Junior Andrea Liddell of the Francis Marion University women's cross country team has been named the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week for the week of Oct. 1-7.
The Manning, S.C., native finished in fourth place at the Columbia College Invitational Meet, hosted this past Saturday in West Columbia. Liddell covered the 5,000-meter course in 21:30 and was the first PBC runner across the line.
Her efforts helped the Patriots to a sixth-place team finish in the 12-team, 72-runner field.
Liddell has led FMU in all four races this year with the CC Invitational as her highest finish this season.
The next scheduled meet for Francis Marion will be the Sand Shark Invitational, hosted by USC Beaufort, Oct. 20 in Hardeeville, S.C.
Liddell is a product of Manning High School, and is in her first year at FMU after transferring from Spartanburg Methodist College. She is majoring in nursing.
