FMU women’s tennis players ranked nationally

Two members of the Francis Marion University women's tennis team are listed in the 2017 fall Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division II singles and doubles national rankings.

Junior Marie Krueger is ranked 37th in the women's singles national rankings, while Krueger and freshman Elisa Lang are ranked 13th nationally in the Division II doubles listings.

In the fall regional rankings for NCAA Division II's Southeast Region, Krueger and senior Sofia Henning are ranked eighth and 13th respectively in singles, while Krueger and Lang are second in the regional doubles rankings.

The FMU women return four letterwinners from last year's squad that finished 14-9 with a No.23 national ranking, and made the program's ninth appearance in an NCAA Division II national tournament regional final over the past 11 years.

Entering his 26th season at the helm of the FMU women's tennis program, head coach Garth Thomson has amassed a 346-201 mark.

The Francis Marion women open their 2018 schedule on Feb. 3-4 with the City of Florence College Tournament at the Dr. Eddie Floyd/Florence Tennis Center.
