The Francis Marion University women's soccer team will close out its 2018 home schedule when the Patriots host fourth-ranked and conference leading Columbus State University on Saturday (Oct. 20) at 5:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, and FMU students are admitted free. The match will also be streamed live online courtesy of the Patriot Sports Network.
Francis Marion (5-7-1, 2-5-0) is looking to finish 2018 with a winning home mark. The Patriots are led by sophomore Dayle McEwen with seven goals and two assists, while sophomore Megan Misuraca has four goals and one assist. The top six FMU scorers are all in their first or second season.
Freshman goalkeeper Rachael Hennenkamp has started all 13 matches this season and owns a 2.53 goals against average with a PBC-high 80 saves.
Columbus State (11-0-1, 8-0) is led by senior forward Olivia Jerrell with 12 goals and seven assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Bria Riancho has recorded four shutouts and owns a 0.85 GAA.
The two programs have met three times previously on the soccer field with the Cougars having captured two victories.
FMU will close out its regular season with road contests at Lander University (Oct. 24) and at Flagler College (Oct. 27).
