Fulmore and Chandler earn All-PBC honors

Francis Marion University junior forward Shaunice Fulmore and senior guard Khai Chandler have been selected to the 2018 Peach Belt Conference All-Conference Women's Basketball Team.  The post-season honors were announced by the PBC Office on Thursday afternoon (March 1).

Fulmore was named to the five-member first-team, while Chandler garnered second-team recognition.  Fulmore was named to the second-team last year as a sophomore and earned conference Freshman of the Year honors in 2016.

A 5-10 native of Lake City, S.C., Fulmore is second in the conference in scoring at 19.3 points per game, while also ranking third in minutes played (33.4 per contest), fifth in free throw percentage (79.0%), sixth in blocked shots (34), eighth in steals (48), 12th in rebounding (7.3 rpg), 18th in three-point percentage (31.8%), and 20th in field goal percentage (42.2%).

She scored in double figures 27 times, including thirteen 20-point contests, and registered five double-doubles.  She was also third on the team in assists (2.1 per game). She was named the PBC Player of the Week once during the 2017-18 campaign and has climbed to 15th on the Patriot career scoring list with 1,358 points.

Chandler, a 5-10 guard from Raleigh, N.C., is third in the PBC in scoring at 19.0 ppg, while also ranking first in minutes played (33.5), second in three-pointers made (65), sixth in steals (62), 21st in blocked shots (14), 21st in three-point percentage (29.1%), 23rd in rebounding (5.6 rpg), and 23rd in free throw percentage (64.5%).

She registered double-figure points in every game, including fourteen 20-point outings, and handed out 1.4 assists per contest.  She ended her career tied for 10th on the FMU career scoring list with 1,509 points and tied for 15th in career steals with 201. She also picked up Player of the Week honors during the 2017-18 season.

The pair helped lead FMU to a 16-12 record and a sixth-place finish in the PBC's regular-season standings. The Patriots lost to Columbus State University 75-60 in the tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday.

It marks the 10th time in 28 years of Peach Belt basketball that the Patriots have has multiple selections on the All-Conference team.

Fulmore was an All-State player at Lake City High School, while Chandler was an All-Conference selection at Garner Magnet High School.
