Freshman Wyatt Witman and junior Andrea Liddell have both been named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Sportsmanship Team for the sports of men's and women's cross country.
The announcements were made at the annual awards banquet held in Augusta, Ga. Members of the squads best embody the PBC core value of fair play and sportsmanship.
Witman, a native of Charleston, finished in 61st position at last weekend's PBC Championships and the Patriots placed eighth in the team standings. He has run in all six races this season for FMU, and was the either the second or third Patriot finisher at each event. He recorded a personal-best 8,000-meter time of 30:13 at the Jaguar Cross Country Invitational Meet hosted by Augusta University.
Liddell, a native of Manning, placed 50th at the PBC Championship Meet and helped Francis Marion to a ninth-place showing in the team standings. She has been the top Patriot finisher in all six meets this season, including a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 20:19 recorded at the Sand Shark Invitational Meet in Hardeeville, S.C.
Both will run, along with their teammates, on Nov. 17 as the Patriots compete in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Meet in Dahlonega, Ga.
Witman is a product of Stratford High School, and Liddell is a graduate of Manning High School.
