    The United Soccer Coaches organization has named Team Academic Award winners for the 2018-19 school year and both the Francis Marion University men’s and women’s squads have been honored.
  • 113 FMU Student-Athletes Named to PBC Presidential Honor Roll

    The Peach Belt Conference announced that 1,517 student-athletes have been named to the 28th-annual Presidential Honor Roll. The list includes a record 113 student-athletes from Francis Marion University. Each of FMU’s 14 sponsored-sports were recognized on the list.
  • FMU Soccer schedules Kids Summer Camp

    Francis Marion University has announced a Summer Kids Soccer Camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 15 to be held June 24-27. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The cost of the camp is $100. The camp is under the direction of new Patriot men's soccer head coach Luis Rincon. This camp is designed for kids who play recreationally, competitively, or who are just looking to get into soccer. The camp is focused on the technical development of each individual player, while allowing them to have fun at the same time. Campers will improve on their passing, dribbling, first touch, heading and shooting. The camps will also include small-sided games with a focus on the technical topic of the day. For more information, contact coach Rincon at or assistant coach Travis Brent at 843-661-1245 or Refunds for cancellations will be given at the following rates: 4 weeks or more before the camp 100%, 2-to-4 weeks before the camp 50%, and less than 2 weeks before the camp 25%.

    First-year Francis Marion University men’s soccer head coach Luis Rincon has announced the addition of five players during the recent signing period: forward and midfielder Matthew Alvarado of El Paso, Texas; midfielder Jafet de Santiago of Durango, Mexico; defender and midfielder Juan Fernandez of Madrid, Spain; midfielder David Galic of Boras, Sweden; and goalkeeper Maximiliano Rocco of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
  • FMU Holds 49th-Annual Athletic Gala

    Francis Marion University recently held its 49th-annual Athletic Gala in the university’s Performing Arts Center. Most Valuable Player awards were given in 14 sports and for the first time the athletic department awarded 13 Frankie Awards, including the Swamp Fox Academic Award, the Ray E. Thames Memorial Raise the Roof Award, and the Mark Haselden Sportsmanship Award.
