FMU stands 20th at East Bay Deli Golf Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – Senior Lars Sandvoll shot a 76 on Monday (Nov. 5) to lead Francis Marion University as the Patriots now stand 20th after two rounds of the East Bay Deli Men's Golf Classic at Kiawah Island.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament will conclude on Tuesday at the 6,911-yard, par-72 Turtle Point Golf Course.

The College of Charleston maintained it lead in the team standings, leading USC Upstate by one stroke and the University of Memphis by four strokes. FMU compiled a 321 team score on Monday.

Sandvoll (79-76=155) and freshman Grant Sellers (72-83=155) are tied for 66th position in the players' standings.  Other Patriot golfers include freshman Grainger Howle (77-85=162) and sophomore Jacob Morris (79-83=162) tied for 101st place and freshman Pierre De Caevel (84-79=163) tied for 106th.

Memphis' Isaiah Jackson and Logan Sowell of the College of Charleston are tied for the lead in the players' standings with a 36-hole total of five-under-par 139.

Monday's round was delayed for 45 minutes due to rainy conditions.
