Patriots 14th after opening round at East Bay Deli Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – Led by freshman Grant Sellers' even-par 72 score, Francis Marion University stands 14th after Sunday's (Nov. 4) opening round of the East Bay Deli Men's Golf Classic at Kiawah Island.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being played on the par-72 Turtle Point Golf Course.

The College of Charleston leads the University of Memphis by a 285-287 count at the top of the team standings. Francis Marion recorded a 307-team score during the opening 18 holes.

Sellers is among a group tied for 15th position as he registered four birdies on Sunday.  The remainder of the FMU squad includes freshman Grainger Howle tied for 56th with a 77 scorecard, senior Lars Sandvoll and sophomore Jacob Morris tied for 78th with a 79 tally, and freshman Pierre De Caevel tied for 107th with an 84 score.

Francis Marion golfers will tee off on Monday morning between 9:15 and 9:55 a.m. on hole 10.
