FMU tied for 9th after day one of Camden Collegiate Classic

CAMDEN, SC – Junior Marc Casullo shot consecutive rounds of 74 on Saturday (Oct. 22) to lead the Francis Marion University squad as the Patriots are tied for ninth at the Camden Collegiate Classic hosted by the University of South Carolina.

The 54-hole tournament event is being played on the 6,455-yard, par-70 Camden County Club course.  Sunday's final round will begin at 8 a.m.

The host Gamecocks lead the team standings with a 36-hole score of 566, four shots ahead of second-place James Madison University.  Francis Marion registered rounds of 301 and 300 on Saturday and is tied with Gardner-Webb University at 601.  The Patriots are only 12 shots outside of the Top 5.

Casullo is tied for 23rd in the players' standings with his 148 scorecard.  Casullo eagled the par-5 seventh hole during Saturday's second round.

Other Patriot golfers include juniors Alessandro Caselli (74-75=149) and Callum McGuigan (74-75=149) tied for 26th, sophomore Lars Sandvoll (79-76=155) tied for 53rd, and freshman Haakon Andersen (81-85=166) in 75th position.
