FMU looks to remain undefeated Wednesday at Mount Olive

The Francis Marion University men's basketball squad will return to action following fall exams by traveling to the University of Mount Olive on Wednesday (Dec. 13) for a 7 p.m. tip-off.

The Patriots (5-0) are one of only 15 unbeaten teams remaining in NCAA Division II and are ranked fourth in the latest D2SIDA Southeast Region poll, while the Trojans are listed sixth.

Senior guard Detrek Browning leads FMU by averaging 25.0 points per game, while connecting on 51.9 percent of his field goals. He is also 11th among the active career scoring leaders in all NCAA Divisions with 1,744 points.

Patriot junior swingman Brandon Parker is chipping in 15.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.

Senior 5-10 guard Tayon Gleaves leads Mount Olive (6-2) with 14.5 ppg, while sophomore 6-0 guard Cameron Robinson scores 14 ppg and  junior 6-5 forward Dominique Tham adds 9.8 ppg and a team-best 7.3 rpg for the Trojans.

Francis Marion has won two of the five all-time meets between the two programs, including a 99-89 victory in Florence last season.
