Francis Marion University men's basketball coach Gary Edwards has announced the addition of 6-11 center Kingsley Nwagboso of Greater Manchester, England, to the Patriot program for 2017-18.
Nwagboso is transferring from Connors State College and will have two years to play for the Patriots.
This past season, he averaged 4.5 points and 4.9 rebounds for a 27-7 Cowboys squad. He connected on 48.4 percent of his field goal attempts. Connors State advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament where the Cowboys defeated Spartanburg Methodist College and fellow FMU signee Devante' Foster.
Nwagboso spent his freshman season at the State College of Florida, where he averaged 5.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game and tallied a team-high 27 blocked shots.
He is a product of Ganon Slade school and Loreto College in Manchester, and averaged 11 ppg as a high school senior. He spent the 2016 summer playing for Great Britain's U20 Team.
"Kingsley will add an inside presence in the paint and should complement senior post player Judah Alexander," Edwards said. "Kingsley's shot blocking ability, rebounding, and collegiate experience will be assets to our roster this coming season."
Francis Marion lost three seniors off last season's 11-17 squad.
