FMU Summer Camp offerings

Activities Camp

Francis Marion University will hold its annual FMU Activities Camp 2019, June 10-July 3.  The camp for boys and girls, ages 5-14, is divided into four sessions and runs weekdays from 8 a.m. until noon.  Each of the first three sessions are for five days and cost $70 per camper.  For those who participated in last year's camp, the sessions are reduced to $60 each. To receive this discount, registration must be done by mail or in-person in the FMU athletics department.  The discount is not available through on-line registration. The fourth and final session runs for three days and the cost is $42 (with a discounted rate of $36 for returning campers).  Camp activities – taught by FMU coaches – include kickball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and swimming. Swimming is not taught, but life jackets are available. Activities will vary from week to week, so as to introduce many different sports. Baseball Camp

Francis Marion University has announced two sessions of its Baseball Camp 2019, an opportunity for young athletes to develop and polish their diamond skills.  The annual camp, for children ages 7-12, will be held June 24-28 and July 8-12 from 9 a.m. until noon each day.  Conducted by Francis Marion head baseball coach Art Inabinet and members of the Patriot baseball team, the camps will stress learning basic game strategy and making the most of individual skills.  The camps will cost $90 per session, if paid in advance, or $100 on the first day of camp. Tennis Camp

Francis Marion University has scheduled two sessions of its annual Tennis Camp 2019, July 8-11 and July 29-August 1, for boys and girls ages 8 to 18.  The camp will be held Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon on the Kassab Courts on the FMU campus.  The cost will be $60 per camper per session or $100 for both sessions.  Each camper will receive a T-shirt. Volleyball Youth Day Camp

The Francis Marion University women's volleyball program will hold a Youth Day Camp on June 22-23. The camp is for players (girls and boys) in the eighth grade and younger, and the cost is $160.  The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days in the Smith University Center.  The camp is under the direction of FMU head coach Lauren Baufield and her staff.  It has been designed to instruct every skill of volleyball, including serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, and digging, in addition to team defensive and offensive systems.  For more information, go to LINK , contact Baufield at lbaufield@fmarion.edu , or call the FMU volleyball office at 843-661-1246.

Volleyball Elite Camp

The Francis Marion University women's volleyball program will hold an Individual Elite Camp, July 9-11. The camp is for players entering the ninth through 12th grades.  Campers may choose to either commute to camp daily ($280 per camper), or reside on campus in the FMU residence halls ($315 per camper).  NOTE: Prices increase to $305 and $335 respectively after June 21. Check-in will begin at noon in the Smith University Center commons area on Tuesday, July 9.  The camp, under the direction of FMU head coach Lauren Baufield and her staff, is designed to instruct every skill of volleyball, including serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, and digging, in addition to team defensive and offensive systems. Soccer Day Camps

Francis Marion University has announced a pair of sessions for the 2019 FMU Soccer Camp this summer. The camp is for boys and girls ages 5 to 14.  The two sessions are slated for June 10-13 and July 8-11 with a cost of $120 per session (there is a $5 on-line registration fee).  The camp, under the direction of Patriot women's soccer head coach Lindsey Morgan, will run from 8 a.m. to noon each day.  Campers are encouraged to bring their own water bottle and snacks. Francis Marion University has also announced a Summer Kids Soccer Camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 15 to be held June 24-27. This camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day.  The cost of the camp is $100.  The camp is under the direction of new Patriot men's soccer head coach Luis Rincon.  This camp is designed for kids who play recreationally, competitively, or who are just looking to get into soccer. Soccer Striker & Goalkeeper Camp

The Francis Marion University men's soccer program has scheduled a Striker & Goalkeeper Camp for boys and girls ages 14-18 on June 15-16.  The camp will run from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, and then on Sunday, June 16, from 9 a.m. to noon.  The cost of the camp is $165 per camper.  The objective of this unique camp is focused on the technical and tactical development of each individual player, while allowing them to have access to experienced coaching within their niche positions. Forwards/Strikers will improve on their finishing, goal scoring, and 1v1 abilities, while goalkeepers will improve on their handling, positioning, reactions, and technique. The camp will also include small-sided games with a focus on gaining experience through game-like scenarios. First-year FMU head coach Luis Rincon will direct the camp.
