The Francis Marion University baseball, softball, and men's and women's tennis teams will all host events this weekend (April 6-8).
The Patriot baseball team will entertain UNC Pembroke for a three-game Peach Belt Conference series, beginning with Vivid Network Solutions Night on Friday at 6 p.m. The series will also consist of single games on Saturday at 2 p.m. and on Sunday at 1 p.m., all on Cormell Field at Sparrow Stadium.
The Friday and Saturday contests will be streamed live online at https://www.youtube.com/user/FMUPatriots, and shown locally on Time Warner Cable channel 11, courtesy of the Patriots Sports Network.
Francis Marion has a 13-23 overall record and a 5-16 conference mark, while the Braves are 24-9 and 8-9. FMU leads the all-time series 71-40-1.
The Patriot softball team (16-20, 2-10) will hold its Senior Day festivities on Sunday when FMU hosts Georgia Southwestern State University for a PBC twinbill beginning at 1 p.m.
Prior to the game, FMU will recognize its two seniors: third baseman Sam Chiudina and right-handed pitcher Samantha Wroblewski.
Daily admission for baseball and softball is $8 for adults and $5 for students with FMU students admitted free with identification.
The FMU men's and women's tennis teams will play their final home matches on Sunday at noon against USC Aiken on the Kassab Courts. The 24th-ranked Patriot men are 7-9 overall and 3-5 in PBC play, while the women are 8-8 and 2-6.
The men's squad does not any seniors this year, while the women will honor three seniors prior to first serve: Sofia Henning, Marie Krueger, and Anna Wintrich.
