With the opening of the R. Gerald Griffin Athletic Complex in 2012, the Francis Marion University softball program moved to the new FMU Softball Stadium.
The field is part of the $11.1 million west campus athletic complex that also includes a lake, fieldhouse, baseball stadium, and soccer stadium. The street address for the complex (GPS) is 4700 East Palmetto Street, Florence, SC 29506.
The softball facility consists of 300 seats with grass berm seating for 500 more spectators, concession area, restrooms, and pressbox. Batting cages are located just beyond the home bullpen down the left field line.
The field dimensions are 190 feet down each line, 213 feet to the power alleys, and 220 feet to center. Bullpens are located down each foul line, and the first phase of the fieldhouse is located adjacent to the right field side of the baseball field.
One main ticket office -- on the east side -- serves the entire complex.
Francis Marion University is a smoke-free campus. No pets are allowed within the confines of FMU athletic facilities.
