FMU: Returning letterwinner....Team MVP for 2010 season....Led a young Patriot squad in six of seven races in 2010....Placed 5th at USCA's Bridgestone Pacer Invitational.....Her 20:27 effort (5,000-meters) at the Mount Olive College Invitational (10-22-10) tied the ninth best time in program history. In the past 10 years, only two freshmen have ever run faster times.....As a freshman, led FMU with a 69th-place finish at the NCAA II Southeast Regional Championships....Suffered injury at 2010 Peach Belt Conference Championship Meet.

PERSONAL: Born Whitney Joy Wagner in Wayne, Neb....Graduated from Smoky Mountain High School, where she ran for coaches Pam Dehdashty and Adam Phillips.....Earned All-Conference, All-Region, and All-State honors for cross country twice after picking up the sport as a junior.....Placed 18th at the state meet, and owns a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 21:08....Also played softball....Jackson County Hall of Fame's Athlete of the Year.....Her father is the head football coach at Western Carolina University....Nickname is Whit.
