FMU signs Conway cross country runner
Francis Marion University cross country coach Mark Bluman has announced the signing of Sierra Young of Conway to a national letter of intent to attend FMU and run for the Patriot women this fall.

Junior Hillary Kiprop and senior Kelly May both posted top-11 finishes and garnered All-Region honors as the Francis Marion University mens and womens cross country teams finished 15th and 20th respectively at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Meet.

The Francis Marion University mens and womens cross country teams finished fifth and ninth respectively at the Peach Belt Conference Championship Meets, held Saturday morning (Oct. 25), while Patriot runners Hillary Kiprop and Kelly May earned All-Conference honors.

FMU at Peach Belt Cross Country Championships on Saturday
Both the Francis Marion University mens and womens cross country teams will compete in the 18th Peach Belt Conference Cross Country Championships, Saturday morning (Oct. 25) in Milledgeville, Ga. The meet is being hosted by Georgia College & State University on the West Campus Course. The event begins with the mens 8,000-meter race at 9 a.m., followed by the womens 5,000-meter race at 9:45 a.m.

Three Francis Marion University student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Peach Belt Conference for the week ending Oct. 19. Senior middle blocker Jessica Lombardi has been selected as the womens volleyball Player of the Week, while junior Hillary Kiprop and senior Kelly May were again selected as the mens and womens cross country Runners of the Week.

Three Francis Marion University student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Peach Belt Conference for the week ending Sept. 21. Senior setter Jenna Kaiser (KY-zer) has been selected as the womens volleyball Specialist of the Week for the second time this season and fifth time in her career, while junior Hillary Kiprop and senior Kelly May were selected as the mens and womens cross country Runners of the Week.

Patriot Runners excel at Limestone Invitational; Kiprop and May lead way
The Francis Marion University mens and womens cross country teams finished third and sixth respectively at the Limestone College Invitational Meet, Saturday morning (Sept. 20) in Gaffney. Patriot junior Hillary Kiprop won the 5-five mens race with a time of 25:55, while Patriot senior Kelly May smashed the school record in the womens 5,000-meter race.

Patriots open Cross Country season in Peach State
The Francis Marion University men's and women's cross country teams will open their 2008 schedules on Saturday (Sept. 6) when the Patriots compete in the Pre-Conference Meet to be hosted by Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Ga. The meet will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the West Campus Cross Country Course with the mens 8,000-meter race. The womens 5,000-meter race will follow at approximately 9:15 a.m.
