FMU Volleyball Invitational on Friday and Saturday

The Francis Marion University women's volleyball team will open its 2009 home schedule by playing host to the six-team FMU Invitational Tournament, Friday and Saturday (Sept. 4-5) in the Smith University Center.

The event will consist of six matches on Friday beginning at 9 a.m., and six more contests on Saturday, also beginning at 9 a.m.  Admission is free.

On Friday, the 2-2 Patriots will play Lenoir-Rhyne College (5-0) at 1 p.m. and the University of Alabama in Huntsville (2-3) at 7 p.m.  On Saturday, Francis Marion will face the University of Charleston (W.V.) (0-5) at 1 p.m. and Erskine College (2-3) in the final match of the invitational at 7 p.m.

Francis Marion has won 15 of its last 16 home matches.
