Francis Marion University Patriot Volleyball Summer Camps for 2009

Coach MacDonald recently concluded his third season at Francis Marion University by guiding the Patriots to the program's third-ever NCAA National Tournament bid. He owns a career coaching record of 111-87 in six seasons as a college head coach. During the 2008 season, MacDonald guided the Patriots to a 23-9 mark and second-place finishes during both the Peach Belt Conference regular season and tournament. MacDonald was named the 2008 Peach Belt Conference "Coach of the Year." His volleyball resume previously includes serving as the head women's volleyball coach at Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for three years, where he also earned conference "Coach of the Year" honors following a 25-11 season in 2005. Coach MacDonald also has experience as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Wayne State University, an assistant at Macomb County Community College, and as an assistant and interim head coach at Division I Oakland University. He has previously worked camps at the universities of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa; Michigan State University; Purdue University; Eastern Michigan University; Mount Mercy College; and Riverview and Regina high schools in Michigan. His coaching and playing experience is sure to make the Patriot volleyball camps beneficial to both you and your players. This unique atmosphere is sure to be popular to both coaches and their student-athletes. During the camp season, members of the FMU volleyball team and guest coaches will also act as camp instructors.

Individual Camp on Campus...................

Patriot Volleyball Individual Camp - July 12 - July 15, 2009

AGES: (rising) Grades 6-12

COST: Resident camper $285 , Commuter $185

Camp participants may choose to commute daily or reside in on-campus housing. Lunch and dinner will be provided for commuters (breakfast, lunch, and dinner for residential campers).

Team Camp on Campus.......................... (THIS CAMP HAS BEEN CANCELED)

Team Camp - July 18 - 21, 2009

TEAMS: Varsity or strong JV, please inqure as to level of current participants.  Maximum players per team - 12, plus 2 coaches.

COST: $2,500 per team-in-residence ; $1,750 per commuting team; additional $140 per player over the limit of 12.

This Team Camp is a great opportunity for both team training, and competition with other participating teams.  Teams will reside in on-campus housing.  Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided for all campers.  At least one coach will be required to reside with campers in on-campus housing.

 

Road Camps..............................................

15-Hour Camps over three days

Road Camps are in Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday blocks OR Thursday, Friday, and Saturday blocks.

A minimum of 18 participants (at $85 per camper) are required for your school to host a Road Camp.  Junior varsity or freshmen players may be included to meet the minimum.
