FMU's O'Leary named PBC Specialist of the Week

Francis Marion University junior defensive specialist Jess O'Leary has been named the Peach Belt Conference Volleyball Specialist of the Week for the week ending Oct. 26.

O'Leary, a native of St. Louis, Mo., averaged 4.83 digs per game last week as the Patriots split two matches and remained in a tie for first place in the conference.  She also recorded three service aces and committed only one serve reception error in 19 total receptions.

The 5-8 junior posted a season-high 18 digs in a road loss at Augusta State University and added 11 more in a 3-0 home win over Armstrong Atlantic State University.

The 19-6 Patriots play a pair of key PBC road matches this week: Friday at Lander University and Saturday at USC Aiken.  FMU has won 13 of its last 15 matches.

O'Leary is a former All-Conference performer at Lutheran High School South, and is a product of Kirkwood Volleyball Club.
