Patriot Women fall in PBC semifinals

FLORENCE, SC – The 10th-ranked and third-seeded Francis Marion University women's tennis team fell to sixth-ranked and second-seeded Columbus State University 5-0, Saturday afternoon (April 13) in the semifinals of the 2013 Peach Belt Conference Tennis Tournament at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.

Francis Marion (21-3) will face 43rd-ranked and fifth-seeded Georgia College in the third-place match on Sunday morning at 8 a.m.  CSU (20-2) advances to face top-ranked and top-seeded Armstrong Atlantic State University in the title match, also Sunday at 8 a.m.

The Patriots nearly pulled out a point at No.2 doubles where junior Tereza Baranova and freshman Nora Westbye lost a 9-7 decision.
