FMU tennis teams sweep Ferris State
FLORENCE, SC - The nationally ranked Francis Marion University men's and women's tennis teams continued their winning ways with a pair of 9-0 non-conference wins over Ferris State University, Wednesday afternoon (March 11) on the Kassab Courts.
The ninth-ranked Patriot women won their 10th consecutive match, all by 9-0 scores, to improve to 11-1 on the season. Junior Tereza Sykorova won in straight sets at No.1 singles to remain unbeaten on the season at 12-0. In fact, she has yet to lose a set this year. Ferris State falls to 10-10.
The 11th-ranked FMU men won for the fifth straight time, the last three by 9-0 decisions, to up their mark to 10-1. Sophomore Oshada Wijemanne remained unbeaten (8-0) at No. 1 singles with a straight-sets win. Ferris State drops to 4-4.
Both FMU tennis teams will entertain Peach Belt Conference foe Augusta State University on Saturday at noon. Ferris State will play at Pfeiffer University on Thursday at 1 p.m.
