For the sixth time in the past seven years, the Francis Marion University women’s soccer team has earned a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award. These most recent awards are for the 2009-10 school year.

The Peach Belt Conference announced that a record 1,079 student-athletes have been named to the 19th-annual Presidential Honor Roll. The list includes 92 student-athletes from Francis Marion University, representing all 12 of its sponsored sports.

Emily Brandenburg, a senior defender and goalkeeper on the Francis Marion University women’s soccer team, has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America Team. A native of Martinez, Ga., Brandenburg has compiled a perfect 4.00 grade point average as a political science major.
