FMU’s Fulmore named to pre-season All-PBC squad

Francis Marion University junior forward Shaunice Fulmore has been named to the 2018 women's basketball pre-season All-Peach Belt Conference Team according to a poll by the league's coaches.

Joining Fulmore on the five-player squad is Breshay Johnson and Mylea McKenith both of Lander University, Alyah McGriff of Georgia College, and Machala Raymonville of Columbus State University.

Fulmore was a second-team All-Conference selection in 2016-17 after leading the PBC in scoring with 17.1 points per game.  The Lake City native also ranked seventh in steals (64), 12th in blocked shots (26), 15th in minutes played (32.5 per contest), and 24th in both field goal percentage (42.4%) and rebounding (5.8 rpg).

She connected on 41.7 percent of her three-point attempts and shot 72.2 percent at the foul line.  She was second on the team in assists (1.8 per game) and scored in double-figures in 29 of 30 games, including eight 20-point contests.

She helped lead FMU to an 18-12 record, including a nine-game winning streak near the end of the regular season, and a second-place finish in the PBC's East Division standings.

She was named the PBC Player of the Week for the first week of February 2017 and was named to the FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll for her work in the classroom during the 2016 fall semester.

Fulmore was honored as the conference's Freshman of the Year in 2016.  In only two seasons, she has career totals of 818 points, 295 rebounds, and 100 steals.

Fulmore was an All-State player at Lake City High School.

FMU will open its 2017-18 campaign by hosting the Peach Belt/Conference Carolinas Challenge on Nov. 10 and 11.  The Patriots will play Erskine College on Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. and North Greenville University on Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
