Patriots to face one of their own

The Francis Marion University women's basketball team will face of one of its own when the Patriots face Converse College and head coach Joanna Tincher on Nov. 15.

Tincher is a 2004 graduate of Francis Marion and was a four-year letterwinner (and two-year starter) on the Patriot women's basketball team.  A forward-center, she appeared in 97 career games and totaled 478 points, 395 rebounds, 105 steals, 71 assists, and 71 blocked shots.  Her best season was the 2003-04 campaign when she averaged 10.0 ppg and 6.8 rpg, while connecting on 50.5 percent of her field goal attempts.

Tincher is in her second season on the Converse bench.  She previously served as an assistant coach at the University of Alabama-Huntsville for three seasons, and played one season of professional basketball in Italy (2007-08).
