FMU softball time changes for this weekend

FLORENCE, SC – With the threat of afternoon precipitation, the starting time for the Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader between Francis Marion University and Flagler College on Saturday (April 9) has been moved up one hour from 1 p.m. to noon.

The games will be played on the FMU Softball Field and admission is free.  FMU is 22-17-1 overall and 7-9 in the Peach Belt and looking to secure a spot in next week’s PBC Tournament at Freedom Florence.  The Saints are 35-13 and 9-7.

Sunday’s Senior Day twinbill between FMU and Pfeiffer University has also been moved up an hour to a noon start.  Between games of the doubleheader, Francis Marion will recognize its three seniors: infielder Jessica Hogan, pitcher Cea Knox, and outfielder Chelle Phillips.

The forecast of rain on Saturday has also canceled the Francis Marion men’s and women’s tennis matches at Anderson University.
