Svanum leads Patriot Golfers at Maryland Intercollegiate
CAMBRIDGE, MD – Sophomore Kenneth Svanum fired rounds of 71 and 76 on Saturday (Sept. 18) and Francis Marion University occupies 14th place after 36 holes of the third-annual Maryland Intercollegiate Golf Tournament.
The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday on the par 71, 6,801-yard River Marsh Golf Club course at the Hyatt Regency Resort in Cambridge, Md.
UNC Wilmington stands atop the team standings, followed by Penn State, the host Terrapins, Xavier University, and the University of Toledo.
Svanum is tied for 28th position in the individual standings. FMU junior Kurt Slattery is tied for 58th place after rounds of 78 and 75, while freshman Sean Morrison is tied for 73rd (81-77=158), sophomore Sebastian Backlund is tied for 76th (80-79=159), and junior Andrew Weir is tied for 78th (80-80=160).
