HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC - Led by co-medalist Lee Bedford, Wake Forest University rallied from four strokes down over Tuesday's final 18 holes to win the team title at the fifth-annual Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, edging host Francis Marion University by one stroke.

The tournament schedule was cut by 18 holes (from 54 to 36 holes) after Monday's rain and lightning.  The event was played on the par-72, 6,828-yard Wexford Plantation course.

Wake Forest carded the low team score of Tuesday, a 2-over-par 290 tally, to finish at 583.  Francis Marion followed Monday's 289 score with a second-round 295 and finished at 584.

"I am proud of the guys," said FMU head coach Mark Gaynor.  "The seniors played well and the first-year players are coming together.  This is a great way to start off our spring season."
