Patriots host Golf Tournament, Monday and Tuesday at CCSC
The Francis Marion University golf team will play host to the 24th-annual Raines Development Group Intercollegiate Tournament, Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 15-16), at the Country Club of South Carolina.
The 54-hole event will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Play will begin on Monday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The CCSC course is a par 72 layout measured at 7,062 yards.
The tournament field includes FMU, Appalachian State University, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern University, Davidson College, East Carolina University, Elon University, Georgia Southern University, Georgia College & State University, Old Dominion University, Presbyterian College, Samford University, USC Aiken, Western Carolina University, Winthrop University, Wofford College, the College of William and Mary, and defending tournament champion Furman University.
The Patriot roster includes seniors Ronan O'Connor (Dublin, Ireland), Andrew Pitcher (Dublin, Ireland), Peter McGibney (Westport, CT), and Keith Crowley (Balincollig, Ireland); juniors Christopher Couch (Summerville, SC) and Matt Jackson (Gloverville, SC); and sophomores Brian Hill (Summerville, SC) and Cory Richards (Florence, SC).
FMU placed 11th at last week's season-opening Aldila Scenic City Invitational in Chattanooga, Tenn.
