Student-Athletes receive Academic Awards Day honors
Five Francis Marion University student-athletes were honored at the University’s annual Academic Awards Day ceremony on April 19 in the McNair Science Building’s Chapman Auditorium. Individual awards were given to students judged to have the most promise of success in their respective academic programs.
Women’s soccer player Emily Brandenburg (West Columbia, SC) was awarded the Duane P. Myers Honors Award, the Political Science Award, and the Scholastic Achievement Award. Softball player Kat Beauvais (Manassas, Va.) received the Management Award. Baseball player Josh Biggers (South Lake, Texas) was awarded the Economics Award, while teammate Alex Lee (Blythewood, SC) was awarded the Mathematics Award. Volleyball player Jessica O’Leary (St. Louis, Mo.) received the L.A. Hoff Psychology Research Award.
