FMU to celebrate Homecoming 2010 on Saturday, Feb. 20

Homecoming 2010 Festivities will be held at Francis Marion University in the days leading up to the weekend of Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010. 

The annual Patriots on Fire Bonfire and Pep Rally will be held across the street from the campus on the Baptist Collegiate Ministry field on Friday (Feb. 19) at 6:30 p.m.

There will be an Alumni Reception on Friday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in The Cottage.  Different academic departments on campus will also hold get-togethers during the week.

The annual PatriotFest (FREE admission) will be held on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. in the Smith University Center.  Alumni basketball games will be played on that morning with the women at 10:30 a.m. and the men at 11 a.m.

The Swamp Fox Club's annual benefit silent auction will be held in the gym from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Francis Marion University men's and women's basketball teams will play Augusta State University in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader that Saturday afternoon at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. in the Smith University Center.  Between games of the twinbill, former Patriot soccer player Josef Schroeder will be inducted into the FMU Athletic Hall of Fame.  At the conclusion of the men's game, the Homecoming Court will be announced.

The Patriot baseball team will also be home that Saturday, hosting West Chester University in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.

Admission to all of the athletic contests on Saturday will be free.
