SF standout returns to Florence, will play for FMU
Francis Marion University softball coach Stacey Vallee has announced that former South Florence High School standout Brittany Cannon will be transferring from Santa Fe College to FMU and will play for the Patriots this coming season.

Patriot men cagers gain services of Shepherd transfer
Francis Marion University men’s basketball coach Gary Edwards has announced the addition of 6-6 junior forward Liki Turner, who is transferring from Shepherd College to FMU and will play for the Patriots this season.

FMU to play in Carolina's Challenge in Myrtle Beach
Francis Marion University athletic officials have announced that the Patriot women’s basketball team will participate in the 2009 Carolina’s Challenge this December in the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Francis Marion will play Bluefield (Va.) College at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20. The University of North Carolina will meet the University of South Carolina at 3 p.m. and Coastal Carolina University will play Savannah State University in the nightcap at 5 p.m.

88 FMU student-athletes named to PBC Honor Roll
The Peach Belt Conference announced that 836 student-athletes have been named to the 18th-annual Presidential Honor Roll. The list includes 88 student-athletes from Francis Marion University. FMU placed student-athletes on the list from all 12 of its sponsored sports.
