The Francis Marion University baseball team will play host to Belmont Abbey College on Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 22), while the Patriot softball and basketball squads will be on the road.
The FMU baseball team (10-1) will look to bounce back from its first loss of 2017 when the Patriots entertain Belmont Abbey (7-5) at 4 p.m. on Cormell Field at Sparrow Stadium. General admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students (FMU students are admitted free with ID).
The Patriot softball team (6-4) will play a doubleheader at the University of Mount Olive (8-6) at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Francis Marion men's and women's basketball teams will conclude their regular season schedules at UNC Pembroke.
The women's game will tip-off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's contest at 7:30 p.m.
The FMU women's basketball squad (16-11, 11-7) has won seven straight and moved into sole possession of second place in the East Division standings, one game ahead of UNC Pembroke (15-10, 10-8). However, the Patriot women have already secured the division's No.2 seed for the upcoming PBC Tournament that begins on Saturday.
The Francis Marion men (11-16, 6-12) are tied for fifth place in the East Division, while UNCP (20-7, 13-5) is tied for the divisional lead with Augusta University. FMU defeated the Braves 96-92 earlier this season in Florence.
